New Delhi, Feb. 24 -- The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday said its Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh met Deepak Kumar, who became popular and grabbed the nation's attention in connection with a recent communal incident in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, which the party described as an example of communal harmony.

The party said that Sanjay Singh met Deepak Kumar, also known as 'Mohammad' Deepak, at his official residence and praised him for assisting an elderly Muslim man during a dispute over a shop signboard in Kotdwar. The AAP claimed that the incident had sent out a message of brotherhood at a time when, according to the party, "hatred" was being spread in parts of the country.
