Mumbai, July 1 -- Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former state minister Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday escalated his attack on the ruling alliance, alleging that the BJP was behind the defection of his party legislator Sachin Ahir to the Eknath Shinde camp.
Talking to mediapersons, he branded the reported ongoing poaching of opposition legislators as "Operation Devendra" alleging that the Chief Minister Fadnavis was the mastermind.
He described the trend of "buying MLAs" as a "shameless" political exercise that undermines democratic values.
Further, he levelled serious allegations of corruption against the BJP citing irregularities in land dealings associated with the Ayodhya Ram Mandir project and the Ujjain Mahakal Corridor.
