Deoria( UP), June 12 -- Shivanand Chaurasia (35), an engine fitter from Deoria district, died in the June 10 attack on an Indian oil tanker off the coast of Oman by the US military.
Shivanand, son of Ramji Chaurasia, a resident of Surouli village in Deoria district, worked as a crew member for a foreign shipping company and had left for work a few months ago.
Shivanand's father, Ramji Chaurasia, told UNI that Shivanand had gone to Mumbai eight months ago and the family last spoke to him on the night of June 9. He had said everything was fine there.
