Kolkata, Sept. 2 -- A near face-off between the Kolkata Police and Indian Army was today witnessed in front of the VVIP areas of Writers Buildings after an Army truck was seized by the Traffic Sergeants for "dangerous" driving.

The incident comes a day after the Fort William authorities yesterday dismantled a TMC's 'protest mancha' in the Maidan area, which infuriated West Bengal Chief Minister and party supremo Mamata Banerjee.

The heavy truck of the Army, which was heading towards the Passport office at Brabourne Road in central Kolkata from Fort William, was about to take a right turn suddenly, which was described as "dangerous" driving by the Hare Police station officer.
