Chennai, April 17 -- : In a horrific road accident 8 tourists from Kerala, all members of a family, were killed and five others seriously injured when the van in which they were returning from Valparai to Pollachi fell from the 13th hairpin bend and turtled down plunging into the 9th hairpin bend, 800 ft below, on the rocky terrain.
According to initial information, 8 persons died on the spot and the seriously injured have been shifted to hospital. The mishap occurred at around 5 pm when the driver lost control of the vehicle while crossing the 13th hairpin bend on the return from Valparai.
