Aizawl, June 26 -- Mizoram has recorded 1,087 tuberculosis (TB) cases and 71 deaths due to the disease since January this year, officials of the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP) said on Thursday.
The officials were attending the State TB Forum Meeting held at the office of the National Health Mission (NHM) Mission Director in Aizawl on Thursday.
Joint Director (TB) and State TB Officer Dr. Zochhuanawmi said 61,246 suspected TB cases were tested between January and June, with 1,087 people confirmed to have contracted the disease. Of them, 71 died.
