Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 6 -- As part of Operation D-Hunt, a statewide special drive, Kerala Police arrested 71 persons and registered 70 cases related to the possession and sale of narcotic substances.

According to police sources, on September 4, 1,611 individuals suspected of involvement in drug peddling were screened during the operation.

The seizures included 0.42 grams of MDMA, 231.76 grams of ganja, and 49 ganja-rolled cigarettes. The drive was carried out under the direct supervision of the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law and Order, with support from the State Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cell, the NDPS Coordination Cell, and range-level anti-narcotics intelligence units.
