Bhubaneswar, Aug. 18 -- Odisha Police have seized 702 kg of ganja, estimated to be worth around Rs 1 crore in the market, from a jungle near Atapada village in Gajapati district, in the latest crackdown on illegal narcotics trafficking.

The seizure was made during a raid conducted by Adava police in the jungle area under Antarba Gram Panchayat within Adava police station limits on Tuesday.

Acting on the directions of the Gajapati Superintendent of Police and Sub Divisional Police Officer, R. Udayagiri, police have intensified patrolling and search operations in the area to curb the illegal cultivation, storage and transportation of ganja.
