Agartala, Feb. 24 -- Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha claimed that as part of the nationwide initiative of constructing Amrit Sarovars (waterbodies) to sustain groundwater, the Tripura government has created as many as 682 waterbodies so far as part of the mission.

According to the decision, at least 75 ponds were proposed for each district across India.

Touching upon the central government's achievements, Dr Saha attributed much of the region's advancement to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Act East Policy, which has propelled Tripura and other North Eastern states onto a developmental path.
