Chandigarh, April 10 -- The Gurugram Police arrested 56 individuals in connection with the violence, vandalism, and arson that erupted during a workers' protest at IMT Manesar.
The accused were produced before a district court on Friday evening, which subsequently remanded them to judicial custody at Bhondsi Jail. Official sources confirmed that all the arrested persons are residents of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
The unrest stemmed from a strike by industrial workers demanding a salary hike, which escalated into a violent confrontation with law enforcement.
