Puducherry:, June 26 -- A significant step towards heritage conservation and water resource revival was marked with the reopening of the historic Muliyan Kulam, located at the Government Middle School in Pooranankuppam, by union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman in the union Territory on Saturday.
Dating back nearly 400 years, the renovated water body Muliyan Kulam has long been an integral part of the region's ecosystem and community life.
Historically, it served as a vital source of drinking water, supported agricultural activities, and provided water for sacred rituals at the Goddess Angala Parameswari temple.
