Chandigarh, May 11 -- Nearly 40 passengers sustained injuries after a Haryana Roadways bus lost control and overturned in Haryana's Jind district on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred around 1:30 PM near Hariyal Chowk, when the driver reportedly swerved to avoid hitting a scooty rider who suddenly appeared in the bus's path. The impact was severe enough that the driver suffered critical injuries.
According to eyewitness accounts, the high-speed bus was en route from Panchkula to Hisar via Narwana. In a desperate attempt to save the two-wheeler rider, the driver steered sharply, causing the vehicle to climb over the road divider.
