Chandrapur, May 7 -- Four employees of the Chandrapur Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra have been suspended over alleged lapses during Maharashtra Day celebrations held on May 1, officials said on Thursday.
According to civic sources, Public Relations Officer Yudhishthir Rainch and store department head Siddiqui Ahmed were suspended for allegedly failing to arrange ceremonial turbans for political leaders, corporators and senior officials during a foundation stone laying programme organised by the corporation.
Two peons attached to the offices of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor were also suspended for allegedly not opening the municipal office on time for the flag hoisting ceremony and reportedly attending duty under the influence of alcoho...
