Varanasi, April 17 -- In a major development in a high-profile illegal codeine-based cough syrup smuggling case, the Kotwali Police in Varanasi on Thursday filed a massive 38,000-page chargesheet against 18 accused, including the absconding kingpin, Shubham Jaiswal.
The chargesheet was submitted before a local court following an extensive investigation carried out under the crime control campaign of the Varanasi Police Commissionerate, officials said on Friday. The case is registered under FIR number 235/2025 at Kotwali Police Station.
