Patna, Aug. 19 -- Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari today directed officials to register an FIR against those responsible after 34 students fell ill after consuming a mid-day meal at Parasi Middle School in Noorsarai block of Nalanda district.
Acting on the minister''s directives, the District Education Officer suspended school principal Shailendra Kumar with immediate effect. The Mid-Day Meal District Programme Officer (DPO) has also been served a chargesheet and departmental proceedings have been ordered.
Three cooks, Mantu Devi, Sharda Devi and Nipu Devi, have been relieved of their duties for alleged negligence, officials said.
