New Delhi, June 9 -- Twenty-four Indian seafarers aboard a merchant tanker anchored off the coast of Oman were rescued safely following a missile attack on the vessel, thanks to swift coordination between the Indian Coast Guard and Omani maritime authorities.
According to official sources, the Indian Coast Guard's Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), Mumbai, received information around 2.20 p,m. on June 8 regarding an attack on the Palau-flagged tanker MT Marivex, which was carrying 24 Indian crew members and was anchored near Masirah Island in Oman.
