23rd Regional meet of OPCW concludes in New Delhi
New Delhi, July 3 -- The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, a prime implementing body of the Chemical Weapons Convention, had organized its Asia meeting in New Delhi from July 1-3.
India is an official member of the OPCW. National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) is responsible for organizing the convention in India. The Indian Chemical Council (ICC) works closely with NACWC to implement the standards set by the governing OPCW.
Regional meetings of the OPCW are held annually to oversee the capacity building of the national authorities. These conferences are an opportunity to exchange experiences for the smooth implementation of CWC ( Chemical Weapons Convention) practices.
