Mumbai, Aug. 26 -- Mokhada Police in Maharashtra's Palghar district have registered a case against 22 women for allegedly trying to persuade an 18-year-old student to convert to Christianity, police said on Wednesday.
The case relates to an incident reported on August 21 at Wakadpada village in Mokhada taluka.
According to police, the women visited the student's house, where one of them, identified as Satyavati Balkrishna Kunche (46), from Ulhasnagar in Thane district, allegedly offered him religious books, including the New Testament.
Kunche allegedly told the student that reading the books would help in curing illnesses and protecting people from diseases, police said.
