Chandigarh, May 22 -- In a major cleanliness and waste management initiative, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh carried out a special sanitation drive at the Dadumajra dumping ground on Thursday, during which around 22 tonnes of non-biodegradable waste were collected and sent for scientific processing and disposal.

The drive was led by Municipal Corporation Commissioner Amit Kumar, IAS, and Chief Engineer Sanjay Arora, who actively participated alongside sanitation workers and field staff at the site. The campaign focused on removing plastic, polythene, rubber, cloth, and other non-biodegradable waste materials scattered across the dumping area.
