Hyderabad, Sept. 12 -- Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Saturday strongly rebutted Opposition allegations over the Section 22-A prohibited properties list, saying no large-scale addition of lands was made by the Congress government and that several properties cited by the Opposition had been under restrictions for years.
Participating in the Legislative Assembly debate on Section 22-A, Ponguleti presented official data and video evidence to counter claims made by BRS and BJP leaders.
He said the total extent of land under Section 22-A stood at 1,02,52,690 acres when the Congress government assumed office in December 2023 and had declined to 1,02,05,250 acres by August 31, 2026, a reduction of 47,440 acres.
