Chandigarh, Oct. 9 -- Around 21 lakh parents participated in a statewide mega parent-teacher meeting (PTM) covering 19,200 government schools across Punjab's 23 districts on Friday, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said, as the state government sought greater parental involvement in improving students' academic performance.
Cabinet ministers and ruling Aam Aadmi Party legislators visited schools during the exercise, while officials of the School Education Department inspected arrangements at nearly 2,000 institutions.
