Srinagar, June 10 -- Two Army personnel of an elite counter insurgency unit were killed in an accidental blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said on Wednesday.

The soldiers were identified as Sowar Chavan Vikram Balkrishna and Sapper Jadhav Arjun Rajendra and both hailed from Maharashtra.

They were seriously injured in an accidental blast on Tuesday evening in the Kamalkote Uri sector along the LoC.

Both injured personnel from a Rashtriya Rifles battalion were immediately evacuated from the site and shifted to the Army's 92 Base Hospital at Badamibagh in Srinagar for treatment.

"However, both soldiers later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital," officials said.
