Lucknow, March 25 -- Amidst rising uncertainties in the global energy market driven by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, oil companies have launched a major drive to streamline the LPG distribution system in Uttar Pradesh.
The KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process is being strictly enforced, resulting in the temporary deactivation of over 110,000 LPG connections in Lucknow and approximately 2 million connections across the entire state.
The state is home to a total of nearly 48.7 million domestic LPG consumers. Gas company officials are currently identifying consumers who have not booked a cylinder for nine months or longer.
