Chennai, June 24 -- The Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) released its specialized El Nino bulletin to highlight the possible impact on the Maritime sectors with the first report forecasting the sea surface temperature in the Indian Ocean to be higher than normal till May 2027..
The first specialized bulletin was released by Chevella Member of Parliament Konda Vishweshwar Reddy In Telangana, a PIB release said here today.
The bulletin confirms that the El Nino event continues to develop and is expected to peak in the winter season (November 2026 to January 2027). As a result, the sea surface temperature in the Indian Ocean will be higher than normal until April/May 2027.
