Srinagar, June 13 -- : A 19-year-old resident of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) was apprehended after crossing the Line of Control (LoC) in the Karnah sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district, officials said on Saturday.

The intruder was identified as Assad Khan, a resident of Muzaffarabad in PoJK. According to officials, the youth was first spotted by locals after he crossed into this side of the LoC.

Officials said the youth was being questioned by security agencies to ascertain the circumstances under which he crossed the heavily guarded border.

Confirming the incident, the Army's Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, in a post on X, said the apprehension was made during a joint operation by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police....
