Etah (UP), Nov. 19 -- Panic gripped a village under the Sikait police station area after a semi-nude body of a 19-year-old girl was found in a drain, police said on Wednesday.
The victim, a BSc student, had gone missing on Tuesday afternoon, and her body was recovered late in the night. Circumstantial evidence indicated a case of rape and murder.
According to residents, the girl left home around 4 pm on Tuesday, saying she was heading to the fields. When she did not return by 6 pm, her father and other family members began looking for her. Despite efforts, no trace of her was found.
