Shillong, March 26 -- Fourteen teams from eight countries will participate in the first edition of the Indian Sailing League (ISL) at the Orchid Water Sports Complex, Umiam lake in Meghalaya from March 27 to 31, an official said on Thursday.
The five-day event is organised by the Umiam Sailing Club in collaboration with Meghalaya Department of Tourism and the United De Novo Association of Yachting (UDAY).
The event will bring together a highly competitive field of 182 sailors from eight countries.
Modelled on a franchise-based format, the League will feature 14 teams representing different regions of India, including the home team, Shillong Umiam Navigators.
