New Delhi, May 11 -- The North-West District Police on Monday said that they have arrested 17 criminals, including five women and a juvenile, during a 24-hour special drive against illegal arms, illicit liquor and contraband substances across multiple police station areas in the district.

Police recovered more than 2 kg of ganja, over 55 grams of smack, 1,750 quarters of illicit liquor, two knives, cash worth Rs 34,500 and vehicles allegedly used in criminal activities.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Akanksha Yadav said the special drive was launched with a firm commitment to maintaining law and order and disrupting organized crime networks involved in drug trafficking, bootlegging and illegal weapons.
