Varanasi, June 18 -- The 168th death anniversary of Maharani Lakshmibai was celebrated on Thursday at her birthplace in Bhadaini, Kashi in Uttar Pradesh.
Organized jointly by the Jagriti Foundation and the Maharani Lakshmibai Janmasthan Smarak Samiti, the second day of the two-day celebration was inaugurated by chief guest Akhara Goswami Tulsidas, Mahant of Sankatmochan Temple, and BHU-IIT Professor Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, and special guests Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state spokesperson Ashok Pandey and social worker Ramyash Mishra, who jointly garlanded the portrait of the brave queen.
