Nagpur, March 1 -- At least 15 people were killed in a blast at an explosives manufacturing factory in Maharashtra's Nagpur district on Sunday morning, officials said.

The blast took place at the SBL Energy Limited factory, a mining and industrial explosives manufacturing company, at Raulgaon in Katol tehsil, a senior police official said.

The exact number of injured persons is yet to be officially confirmed, and rescue operations are underway. According to officials, the incident occurred at around 7.15 am at the company's detonator packing unit, triggering a massive fire that caused panic in nearby areas.
