Imphal, Sept. 13 -- Manipur Police today said a total of 14 people were arrested in a series of operations spanning militancy, extortion, arms smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and an armed attack on security personnel.
Of the 14 arrests, seven were linked to proscribed militant/armed groups. Six people were arrested in narcotics-related cases, five in a joint ganja seizure in Imphal, and one Myanmar national was apprehended along the border with suspected heroin. The remaining arrest was of a man accused of firing at CRPF personnel in Khonghampat.
