Hyderabad, July 6 -- In a significant step toward tribal welfare, the Telangana government has sanctioned 13,266 Indiramma houses for Chenchu families, one of the most backward tribal communities in the state.

The announcement was made by Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, who stated that the government is committed to fulfilling the long-standing dream of the Chenchus to own a permanent home.

The houses are being allocated across 21 constituencies under four Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) - Utnur, Bhadrachalam, Munnanur, and Eturunagaram - through a saturation method, ensuring every eligible Chenchu family receives a home.
