Patna, Aug. 20 -- CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya said in Patna today that the 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill is a death knell for India's constitutional federal system and parliamentary democracy.
He said that according to this bill, if a minister is sentenced to 5 years in any case and spends 30 days in jail, he will have to step down from his post.
The Left leader said, "Naturally, the prime minister or BJP ministers will not be sent to jail. This provision is a calculated conspiracy to destabilise non-BJP governments and prevent them from functioning."
