Bhubaneswar, Sept. 18 -- Reliance Foundation organised an exposure visit for 115 students from nine government schools in Dhenkanal to its Athletics High Performance Centre (HPC) at Kalinga Stadium here as part of its grassroots sports initiative.
The students, including 58 girls and 57 boys from Classes VI to VIII, were introduced to a professional sporting environment and took part in a Performance Grade Competition in three athletics disciplines - running, long jump and javelin throw.
The initiative, undertaken with the participation of the students' parents, seeks to encourage children to take up sports while fostering fitness, discipline, confidence, teamwork and sportsmanship, the foundation said.
