Guwahati, Dec. 30 -- The Assam police have arrested 11 Jehadi operatives belonging to the Imam Mahmuder Kafila (IMK) module from Assam and Tripura on Monday night.

Assam police said this on Tuesday adding that the arrest took place with inputs from central Security and Intelligence agencies, who have been keeping a hawk eye over the Jihadi activities in Northeast India general and Assam in particular.

The Imam Mahmuder Kafila (IMK) is a Bangladesh-based offshoot of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) which is banned in India. Police said that the IMK was founded in 2018 by one Jewel Mahmud and it propagates the ideology of 'Ghazwatul Hind'.
