Pune, Aug. 2 -- Pilgrims participating in the annual Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage to Pandharpur received timely emergency medical assistance through the Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services (Dial 108), with 27 ambulances deployed round the clock along the pilgrimage route.
The 108 ambulance service in Maharashtra is operated by BVG.
To ensure prompt emergency response for the lakhs of Warkaris undertaking the pilgrimage, a dedicated control room was established in Pandharpur.
The control room continuously monitored the movement of the palkhi processions and coordinated the deployment of ambulances whenever required.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited the control room to review the emergency response arrangements.
