Thiruvananthapuram, June 25 -- Kerala will roll out a statewide Pulse Polio immunisation campaign on June 28, targeting nearly two million children under the age of five in a major effort to safeguard the state's polio-free status.

Health and Devaswom Minister K. Muraleedharan has said all preparations for the campaign have been completed and urged parents and guardians to ensure that every eligible child receives the life-saving oral polio vaccine on Sunday.

The state-level inauguration will be held at the Mother and Child Hospital in Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, at 8 a.m. Transport Minister C. P. John will preside over the event, which will also be attended by MP Shashi Tharoor, Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V. V. Rajesh and senior officials...
