Patna, Sept. 13 -- Amid the worsening flood situation in several parts of Bihar, the Disaster Management Department has stepped up relief and rescue operations, with 1,251 community kitchens serving meals to around 88.54 lakh people so far.
According to the department, the community kitchens are being operated in flood-affected districts to provide morning and evening meals to people in need.
As many as 13 relief camps have also been established, where accommodation, food and medical facilities are being provided to the flood-affected people.
The department said around 3.68 lakh polythene sheets, 65,400 dry ration packets and nearly 1,400 food packets have so far been distributed among affected families.
