Srinagar, June 5 -- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha's on Friday said the administration has arrested 1,128 drug smugglers and registered over 1,000 FIRs in the past 55 days as part of the ongoing 100-day anti-drug campaign in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sinha on Friday launched a padyatra (foot-march) in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, where he said what began as a war against drugs and narco-terrorism has now ignited into a true people's movement.
"Having now visited every district in Kashmir Valley & stood with each march, I can say that a historic movement against narco-terrorism has risen," the Lieutenant Governor said in his address to the people on the occasion.
