New Delhi, Jan. 5 -- Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Monday termed the birth of a baby boy to Sunali Khatun at a hospital in Birbhum as a "triumph of humanity," after what he described as a shocking miscarriage of justice involving her alleged wrongful deportation to Bangladesh.
"I am deeply moved and genuinely heartened to learn that Sunali Khatun has given birth to a healthy baby boy at Rampurhat Medical College, Birbhum," Banerjee said in a statement posted on his WhatsApp channel.
He added that the joy of the moment was heightened by the suffering Khatun had endured prior to her return to India.
