Washington, Dec. 1 -- The Wicked universe is set to expand even further. Gregory Maguire, the author of the 1995 novel that inspired the Broadway hit and Universal blockbuster starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, is returning to the land of Oz with a prequel exploring the origins of the Good Witch, as per Deadline.
Titled 'Galinda: A Charmed Childhood,' the novel is scheduled for release on September 29, 2026 through HarperCollins.
The book is billed as a sister volume to the No. 1 New York Times-bestselling 'Elphie: A Wicked Childhood,' which explores the beginnings of the Wicked Witch.
