Beed, Jan. 22 -- A handwritten letter by a Class 6 student from a Zilla Parishad school in Beed district has drawn attention to the lack of basic facilities in government schools, prompting the local administration to order an inquiry into the matter.
In her recent letter addressed to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, the student, Ankita, praised the efforts of her teachers but highlighted the absence of essential amenities in her school. She said that facilities such as clean drinking water, functional washrooms, handwash arrangements and basic play materials existed only on official records, while students continued to study without access to them. A response from the Deputy CM is awaited.
