Bhubaneswar, June 15 -- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday flagged off the historic 'Somnath Swabhiman Yatra-2026', marking the beginning of a special pilgrimage train carrying more than 1,100 devotees from Odisha to the sacred Somnath Temple at Prabhas Patan in Gujarat.
The launch of the yatra adds a new chapter to Odisha's cultural and spiritual journey, linking the land of Lord Jagannath with one of India's most revered Jyotirlinga shrines.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the pilgrimage was not merely a train journey but a celebration of faith, devotion, and cultural self-respect.
