Kochi, Nov. 8 -- A two-day coastal security exercise, 'Sagar Kavach', was carried out to assess the preparedness of security agencies in countering sea-borne asymmetric threats along the coasts of Kerala and the union Territories of Mahe and Lakshadweep.
Indian Naval ships, Indian Coast Guard vessels, and patrol boats of the Coastal Police, Customs, Marine Enforcement Wing and the Cochin Port Authority were deployed for the exercise. Extensive aerial surveillance missions were also flown by aircraft of the Indian Navy and the Indian Coast Guard.
