Mumbai, Aug. 29 -- Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil today issued a stern warning to the state government, declaring he would not retreat from his ongoing agitation even if bullets were fired at him.
Speaking to reporters at the protest venue, Jarange Patil said he had taken to the battlefield to secure a better future for Maratha youth. He demanded that the government grant Kunbi caste certificates to Marathas, extend Other Backward Class (OBC) reservation benefits, implement the 'sage-soyare' ordinance, withdraw cases filed against protesters, and provide financial aid to families of deceased agitators.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police granted Jarange Patil permission to continue his protest at Azad Maidan for one more day.
