Mumbai, Sept. 14 -- "Ramayana" has begun its musical rollout with 'Jai Jai Ram', the film's first song, released on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Composed by AR Rahman, written by Dr Kumar Vishwas and sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, the song blends the spiritual spirit of an aarti dedicated to Lord Rama with cinematic music.
The film's producer, Namit Malhotra, said that Shri Ram is at the centre of "Ramayana," and 'Jai Jai Ram' brings to the fore the age-old spiritual connection people have with him.
The film is being made on a grand scale, but its foundation is rooted in emotions, values, and devotion. Launching the musical journey on Ganesh Chaturthi holds special significance for him.
