Srinagar, Aug. 14 -- Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that Jammu and Kashmir had been deprived of its rightful share of water under the Indus Water Treaty, asserting that the region's "blood has been sucked" because it was not allowed to fully utilize its own rivers.

Responding to remarks by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif describing every single drop of water as Pakistan's "red line", Omar said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir had repeatedly raised concerns over the issue and had been deprived of the benefits of their own water resources.
