Mumbai, June 27 -- Sharad Pawar-led NCP MLA Rohit Pawar waxed confident on Saturday that any attempt to get MPs of his party to defect to the BJP as part of what is being called 'Operation Tutari', will be a failure.

He was reacting to speculation in political circles here about 'Operation Tutari' after Beed MP Bajrang Sonawane met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently.

The 'Tutari' is a curved horn-like wind instrument which sounds like a trumpet, which used to be played to announce the commencement of Maratha wars and coronations. The 'Tutari' also happens to be the election symbol of the Sharad Pawar-led NCP, which is part of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
