Patna, March 15 -- A special pilot programme titled "Navya Project" has been launched to empower women and make them self-reliant under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana with the support of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
Official sources said here on Sunday that the main objective of the scheme is to train adolescent girls aged 14 to 18 years in vocational and employment-oriented skills so that they can become self-reliant and access better job opportunities.
In the first phase, the programme has been launched in 27 districts across 19 states of the country.
The sources said that the project is being implemented at five locations at Bodh Gaya, Guraru, Manpur, Sherghati and Dumaria of Gayaji district.
