Mumbai, July 15 -- Samajwadi Party MLA Raees Sheikh has demanded immediate restoration of the Urdu edition of Maharashtra's flagship publication "Lok Rajya," alleging its unjustified discontinuation deprives millions of Urdu speakers of crucial government information.
In a formal letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Sheikh condemned the suspension of the state-run magazine's Urdu version without explanation. He urged the Information and Public Relations Department to resume publication, emphasising its role in communicating government schemes to Maharashtra's 7.5 million Urdu-speaking population.
